I made sure everything was ready for Winston's arrival. Do you think he read the plaque by our front gate on his way in?
I waited and waited and waited. All day long. FINALLY they pulled up the street, just before dark.
Flash and Kalvin were hanging their heads out of their stalls trying to get a look. Jackson watched intently from his turnout.
I dropped Winston's trailer window and he greeted me. I swear, he was saying "Here I am! Your horse!"
He unloaded easily and then I turned him out in the arena to chill and roll.
He was very good when I put on his blanket and led him out to his paddock. After he was safely in his area, we let the horses and donkeys back out to the pasture. Jackson was still gimpy so he stayed in; the donkeys hid behind Brett; but Flash and Kalvin immediately went over for meet and greet.
By the time we finished with chores, Tuffy and Winston were touching noses. He seems to be settling in just fine.
Am I the luckiest girl in the world or what?
Congratulations! I wish you the best of luck with Winston. I am sure he will love it there. Make sure you get a picture of him eating that first carrot!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! He's a beauty. And so calm about everything! I can't wait to hear all about the first ride!
ReplyDeleteI hope Jackson gets to feeling better soon.
Safely home! Congrats Annette! May you have many hours of fun together!

ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome boy. You'll two will have so much fun together I'm sure.
ReplyDeletehe looks pretty happy to be there too! :)
ReplyDeleteis that kalvin that floats like king of the world? wow! he's gorgeous!
I do believe that you and Winston are very lucky to have each other. He is positively beautiful and that long roll made Aspen Meadows his home. Kalvin sure was doing some fancy moving in that second video. Just think, it was not that long ago when you made the decision to retire Jackson and look for a new pony. Here you are! I wish you all the best...great happiness is in your future.
ReplyDeleteHave to be honest here! he certainly is a bonny looking chap! I do wish you good luck with him.
ReplyDeleteThat was one serious roll! Looks like he is home. I am so happy for you!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!! I can feel your glee in this post. I love your Aspen Meadows plaque and I do think Winston read it!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up taking the photos of the trailer approaching. I bet you were giggling. I know because last year at this time we got our Foggy boy and I was just as excited!
Enjoy! Good luck and have fun and love up your new boy! He is gorgeous!
He is gorgeous!!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWinston looks like he's right at home already. There's nothing like a good roll to say I'm home and he's definitely a professional roller, both sides got a good rub off. Seems like a really calm guy and takes things as they come, I'm sure he'll fit right in. I've got a soft spot for splashy colored horses, he's beautiful. Congratulations on finding each other and may you have many wonderful rides together.
ReplyDeleteHope Jackson is feeling better soon.
Congratulations on your new partner under saddle. He is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!!! Congrats! He's a champion roller isn't he? I was impressed lol. I can't wait to follow along on your adventures together. :D
