Visiting Goats

This morning Brett, Camille and I went over to see the mama goats for our coming kids.  There were even some babies (already sold to someone else).

So friendly!

One of the pregnant does.  Mama?

Both the p.g. mamas.  Our babies will look like these.

But we also fell in love with the color of this one so we may get one later this year when she is bred.

The breeder gave me an owner's manual.

After the goat visit, we went down the mountain to a birthday lunch for a good friend.  (Happy Birthday Steev!).  Then we stopped by the feed store to buy a replacement chicken feeder.

Unfortunately, I have no self control in a farm store.  Mall?  No problem.  In and out in 5 minutes.  Farm, feed or tack store?  An hour at least and $$$$
Goat feeder

and all the other stuff we picked up.

Jackson continues to improve.  He's walking much better now.  He's happy and so am I.  We turned him out for a few hours because he was feeling good enough to be a bit stir crazy in his stall.  I'll gradually add to his time out as he tolerates it.

BBQ hotdogs for dinner tonight.  It's going to cool off this coming week but the weekend was gorgeous.  Camille is back to her dad's and life is back to the usual routine.  Nice weekend though.  Hope you had the same!

  3. Glad Jackson is improving.

Oh my lord - that baby goat is dangerously cute!! The mamas are adorable too. I'm planning on adding goats to my farmette once I'm living there - looking forward to following along on your goat journey until then. :)

  6. I've been thinking about getting some goats but haven't wanted to make that leap yet. Your new babies are going to be so very cute!!

I'm the same way at the farm store--that is always where I spend the most time and money!

  7. I had a cream/blonde Pygmy like that when I was a kid. :) My favorite was a black one named Tessa though. She used to go on trail rides with us and would snitch corn out of the deer feeders. :)

I'm the same way about a feed/tack store lol.

I'm glad Jackson is feeling better!
