Thursday morning when I was at Oak Creek clearing the pasture, I met the current residents. A doe was hanging out inside the dog area. When she saw me, she jumped the fence and headed behind the barn.
Later, I walked back to the goat area to check the fence and there she was again. She had a little trouble figuring out how best to get away from the fearsome human with the camera. Over the fence? Through the fence? This way? Or that?
Later, while I was sitting on the porch swing eating my lunch I noticed that there was a buck sleeping in the run-in shed of the big pasture next to the house.
This is the same buck we've seen before, sleeping in one of the stall turnouts. I don't think this couple are going to be too thrilled with all our animals arriving. The first batch arrive tomorrow. Whee!

I'm so glad you got rid of Google+ so I can comment. It's not the same for me to just read blogs. I'm happy you found this place. I can imagine you must have been working very hard lately with more to come. Your squatters will not be happy, we mainly had rabbits in overdrive when we moved in here.
Ahhh yes, I miss the deer from when I lived just on the other side of the mountain from where you are now. You have my dream house in the header. I've always wanted a wrap around porch. You'll be so happy there.
