The street and both sides of the sidewalk were mobbed with people. There were vendors lining the sidewalks selling everything from jewelry to tee-shirts. It was almost impossible to move. We were carried down the street on a huge wave of humanity. We found the experience very claustrophobic.
We made it about half way down the street and then we were done. Both of us needed to be away from all the people, someplace where we could breathe. We fought our way against the tide, through the masses of people, and back to the peace and quiet of our little neighborhood.
Interesting but... Not my cup of tea. At all.
Well, at least you "experienced" it. I think I would have done the same, but like you, got in a few good shots first.
ReplyDeleteSea of Humanity is right....looks more like a Tidal Wave to me! lol!
ReplyDeleteNot my cup of tea either, but your photos are terrific!
~Lisa
Its interesting to note how you felt about the numbers of people!
ReplyDeleteThis small island of ours holds more people than the whole of France!!
Holy Moly...I feel claustrophobic just thinking of being there! I am way to hermity to handle something like that anymore...I can understand why you bolted :)
ReplyDeleteI think hanging out with goats and ponies and donkeys and doggies (and chickens!) sounds much more peaceful!
wow, that is a lot of people. I wouldn't do well in the middle of all of that either. Give me my wide open spaces, or trees! lol
ReplyDeleteRight there with you on the crowd thing. Nice pictures anyways ;)
ReplyDeleteWouldn't have been my 'cup of tea' either! But, you can say you were there. You got some good photos to remember the day with!
ReplyDeletethose street performers look very interesting!
ReplyDeleteI get claustrophobic in crowds too.It looks like a great market though, so that would be enticing. Interesting street performers.
