Grey Day

It looked like this all day long:

Normally, I work from home on Wednesdays (and you get a blog post) but I had meetings in the office yesterday followed by an appointment at the gym with Dominique, my evil trainer.  When I got home, I was toast.  When I woke up this morning, I was still toast.

After breakfast, we got to work on our projects.  Brett gave a trailer load of compost each to two neighbors.

I was busy in the house, working.

We had both planned to ride in the afternoon.  Brett ran out of energy -- he cut back the shrubs that were taking over the garden walkway in addition to moving compost.  I never found my energy.

I did make dinner though.  Baby back ribs:

I peeled and cut up three apples, added a couple spoonfuls of brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and raisins.  I let it cook until it was nice and soft.

and baked potato.  Comfort food on a dreary night to soothe my aching muscles.

Tomorrow, I will try to ride (if it isn't raining).

Someone asked me what defines the color red dun (Mufasa is a red dun).  When we bought him, I had to look it up.  A dun has a dorsal stripe and often also has stripes on the lower legs.  A red dun is basically a chestnut colored horse with a dorsal stripe.  Mufasa does not have stripes on his legs.  But he does have two cool brands!  One on his shoulder and one on his butt.  I'll get pictures of them for you one of these days.
