Heart Horses

Jackson has always been my heart horse.  I never expected, or even hoped, to find another horse with whom I shared the same bond.  Those of you who read my blog regularly know that Lucy has stolen my heart.  This morning when we rode, we were in perfect sync.  I can feel her thoughts and she feels mine.  We like doing the same things, we like riding with the same amount of contact and feel; I laugh and smile a lot; Lucy chews softly on the bit and moves in complete relaxation.  She's forward and prompt and accurate.

We worked a bit earlier this morning so it wasn't quite as warm, about 60F.  She's getting her winter coat so, even though we didn't work excessively long or hard, she was sweaty when we finished.  I hosed her off and took her out to graze by the dressage court while she dried.

Jackson was there, at the fence line, with Tuffy.

Lucy ignored the boys at first, so Jackson took a nap while Tuffy rolled.

Lucy decided to roll as well.

Then she ambled over to flirt with Jackson.

My two heart horses, enamored with each other.  Who would have guessed?
