Sunday Stills - Water Droplets

The challenge for this week was to take a picture of water drops or water splashing.  This was quite a challenge -- but a fun one -- for me.  I've never played with shutter speed before.  Thanks, Ed, for the challenge of going beyond the "auto" setting on my point and shoot camera.  If you want to see more water drop pictures, click on the Sunday Stills picture in my side bar.

I took my camera down to the horses' water trough.  I asked Jackson to join me and he, in turn, invited Kalvin.

I started by taking pictures of the water coming into the trough but quickly changed my focus to the horses who were very helpful in creating splash and water drops.

Can you see Jackson's tongue in the water?

The Goats Get a Trim

It's time to trim the goats' hooves.  I got the nippers and waited for the first victim goat to jump in my lap.  Bella, Bear and Thistle were all cuddled and clipped lickity-split.

Whiskey climbed up next.

He didn't want to leave, but Cowboy was ready for his turn.  Cowboy is the shyest of our goats so I wanted to take advantage of his friendly frame of mind.  I set Whiskey down and invited Cowboy up. He wasn't sure at first; but he quickly settled in for his trim.

Brett had a craving for spaghetti with meat sauce and I had plenty of tomatoes.  The plants are still going gang busters.

Besides, he brought me flowers.  Pour that man an extra big glass of wine!
