One Year Ago: Looking Back

One year ago, in April, Brett and I drove to Pleasant Valley to look at a property we had seen listed.  It was evening, the house was vacant, and deer were grazing in the yard.  We pushed the gate, to what we know call the clover pasture, open and walked through the marshy pasture.

Today, the horses have done a nice job of mowing the grass and Brett has removed all the temporary fencing.

The driveway up to the house was almost obscured by knee high grass.  But even so, we fell in love with the evening birdsong and the peace that wrapped its arms around the house under the oaks.

It looks a bit better today; nicely trimmed but still filled with peace and birdsong.

  1. I can't believe it has been a year. You jumped through a lot of hoops to get there and now it sure looks like you and Brett.
